Kruger National Park + Private Game Lodge
Day 1 – KNP
Met by Vula Tours guide and transferred
by road to the Kruger National Park by means of a “safari transfer” in
an open game drive vehicle.
This is an exciting and different way to view the game in this Park –
and hopefully in the days to come, you will get to see some or all of
the “Big 5” (Elephant; Buffalo; Rhino; Lion & Leopard). Don’t forget
hats, sun cream, cameras and binoculars!
You will arrive at your rest camp before
gate closing time, where you will check in & your guide will show you to
your bungalow. The rest camps in the Kruger National Park are all fenced
in, with a variety of comfortable accommodation in the form of
“rondawels” or bungalows, comfortably equipped, in this case, with: 1
bedroom with 2 single beds; airconditioning; closed veranda; fridge;
hotplate; sink; utensils (this is for those who would like to
self-cater); WC and shower.
Your guide will then arrange a time to
meet with you and take you to the restaurant for dinner.
Overnight in self-catering bungalow.
Brunch and dinner included.
Day 2 : KNP
You will be given an early wake-up call
by your guide and start your day with a steaming cup of coffee or tea
and “rusks” (local biscuits) before setting out on an early morning
drive.
The world-renowned Kruger National Park
offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa.
Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African
Lowveld, this national park of nearly 2 million hectares, SANParks -
Kruger National Park is unrivalled in the diversity of its life forms
and a world leader in advanced environmental management techniques and
policies.
Truly the flagship of the South African
national parks, Kruger is home to an impressive number of species: 336
trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 150 mammals.
Man's interaction with the Lowveld environment over many centuries -
from bushman rock paintings to majestic archaeological sites like
Masorini and Thulamela - is very evident in the Kruger National Park.
These treasures represent the cultures, persons and events that played a
role in the history of the Kruger National Park and are conserved along
with the park's natural assets.
Your guide will arrange the day around
you and either take you back to the rest camp for an afternoon “siesta”
or plan a full day’s route, with a stop during the hottest part of the
day at one of the cool picnic sites alongside a river, under large shady
trees.
You will be back at your rest camp before
sunset, with a chance to freshen up and have some dinner.
Overnight in self-catering bungalow.
Brunch and dinner included.
Day 3 – 4 : KNP to Kwa Madwala
Another early morning wake up call with
coffee/tea & rusks, before setting off on your “Safari Transfer” to Kwa
Madwala at the southern end of the park. You will exit the park through
one of the southern gates (Malelane or Crocodile Bridge) and be
transferred by road to the 4000 hectare private game reserve located in
Mpumalanga Province.
Meaning "place of the rock" in the local
Swazi tongue, Kwa Madwala lies on the southern side of Kruger National
Park and is home to the fabulous Manyatta Rock Camp. Here, comfort comes
as standard along with elegant African touches and commanding views over
the surrounding bush from a stunning hilltop location.
On your arrival, you will be met with a refreshing welcome drink and a
hot towel, and after check-in , you will be shown to your unique room. .
.
Looking like giant rocks, the dome shaped bedrooms are scattered across
the kopjie with fabulous views out across the bush from the private
wooden deck of each unit. Manyatta has been skillfully designed to blend
in with the surrounding natural environment and to ensure that all rooms
offer a private wooden deck for bright mornings and lazy afternoons
overlooking the African bush. An outside shower, deckchairs and hammock
make the decks very popular with guests.
Subtle lighting around the camp and footpaths connect all rooms to the
swimming pool, boma dining decks, bar and viewing lounge deck. All 27
rooms are comfortable yet tastefully furnished and infused with elegant
African touches. The bedrooms are air-conditioned with two twin beds
made up as a queen size bed and include a mini fridge (which can be
stocked as a bar upon request). The en-suite bathroom has dual his and
hers sinks, w.c. and bath.
The next three days will merge into hazy,
lazy African days – filled with exciting game drives and bush walks in
the 4000 hectare reserve, as well as the option of unique experiences
with elephants and viewing game by microlight!
Days will start with early morning wake-up calls, tea/coffee and
homemade biscuits/“rusks” on the deck, before departing on the morning
drive. Back for breakfast at around 9am, after which you have the rest
of the day for relaxing, walking, elephant interaction, microlight
safaris – whatever your heart’s desire – before lunch. The afternoon
drive departs around 4pm and you will again meet on the deck for some
afternoon tea/coffee/juice and cake. On the drive, your ranger will find
somewhere spectacular to stop and enjoy a refreshing drink whilst
watching the sun set over Africa..
You will return to the lodge in the evenings at around 7pm, with a
chance to freshen up before dinner is served – either on the deck or in
the boma.

Inclusive basis (accommodation; all meals, teas and two game drives
